Legendary Performers to Honor Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson at MusiCares Tribute Event

The Recording Academy has announced that John Legend, Brandi Carlile, Sheryl Crow, and Lionel Richie will be among the performers at the 2023 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute event.

The event, which will take place in Los Angeles on February 3rd, will honor music moguls Berry Gordy and Smokey Robinson. Other performers include Jimmie Allen, Chloe X Halle, The Isley Brothers, Mumford & Sons, The Temptations, PJ Morton, Rita Wilson, Dionne Warwick and Trombone Shorty.

This is the first time that the tribute ceremony will honor two individuals.

The gala concert and dinner raises funds for the programs of MusiCares, the Recording Academy charity that provides health and welfare services to musicians in need.

Past MusiCares honorees include Joni Mitchell, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Dolly Parton, Aretha Franklin and Aerosmith.
