Microsoft to Cut 10,000 Jobs in 2023: CEO Nadella Reveals Timeline for Layoffs

Microsoft has announced layoffs for 2023, with the company stating that it will eliminate a total of 10,000 jobs. The layoffs will impact less than 5% of Microsoft’s workforce, with reports initially stating that 11,000 jobs would be cut. These layoffs come as a result of the economic recession in the West, which has affected many major tech and IT companies. Companies such as Meta, Twitter, Amazon, and Goldman Sachs have also recently announced layoffs, with the economic downturn taking a toll on thousands of jobs. According to CEO Satya Nadella, the layoffs are aimed at addressing the differing outlooks for different parts of the business.
